My husband's Grandfather, Virginius Washington Smith, was married to a
Sarah McDermott. Her grave, according to Glenn Miner, says 1856?1876.
They were married in Gallatin County Jan 13, 1875, according to the state
marriage index. They had one son, Joseph, born in 1875.

Could Thomas and Sarah be brother and sister? The information above is
really all I have. Virginius did not marry again until 1902.

Thomas McDermott b. 3-12-1865 d.4-22-1941
Betty Whitmore b. abt. 1868 married to Thomas in 1890
