I have a Nancy Jane Bruce who married C. T. Kanady. She was the daughter of
Alexander E. Bruce and Nancy Jane Crawford. I don't have a birth date for
her but the few dates I have on her siblings show they were born in the
1850s. Her parents were buried in the Crawford Cemetery in Gallatin County.


Alexander's father was Benjamin Walker Bruce, and his parents were Robert
Bruce and Sally Benton.

This Bruce family originated in Culpeper Co., VA. They migrated first to
Wilkes Co., NC, then to Sumner Co., TN, and then to White Co., IL, before
settling in Gallatin Co. This research was passed along to me and I can't
attest to its validity.

Could my Nancy Jane Bruce be your Nancy J. Colbert Kanady?
