Mr. Clarence E. Marshall, Galesburg Chapel, 85, of 795 E. Third St.
Galesburg, IL, died at 3:20 AM Friday July 8, 2005 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in
Galesburg, IL.
He was born February 25, 1920 in Carrollton, IL to Clarence W. and Nettie W.
Fresh Marshall. He married Bessie A. Grafford January 26, 1944 in San
Francisco, CA. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons – Richard Gale Marshall of Fremont, CA, Daniel
LaVern (his wife Ida) Marshall of Newark, CA, nine grandchildren and thirteen
great-grandchildren.
He was Preceded in death by two daughters Patricia Ann Marshall and Norma
Jean McCarn, and three brothers.
He worked for the United States Navy’s Department of Defense Civil Service as
a Marine Electrician for thirty years and retired in 1980. He was a WWII Navy
Veteran. He graduated from Carrollton High School, Carrollton, IL in 1938. He
attended Harvest Church of God, East Galesburg, IL
Funeral service will be 1:30 PM Wednesday July 13, 2005 at
Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with the Rev. Darrell Garrett officiating. Visitation
will be from 12:30 – 1:30 PM Wednesday at the Chapel. Burial will be in East
Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg, IL with Military rites by the Ralph M. Noble,
American Legion Post # 285. Memorials can be made to the Harvest Church of God
