Loretta and Frankie,

Ladona/Ladonia Sneed is a daughter (and only child) of Eldridge Sneed
and Nancy Ann Laswell. They were married in Hamilton County on 25 Oct
1853.

Eldridge Sneed was a son of James R Sneed and Lucy Hatter. Eldridge
Sneed was 1st married to Mary Jane Curry on 23 Feb 1848 in Gallatin
County, IL.

Nancy Ann Laswell is a daughter of Henry Laswell. Nancy was 1st
married to Lewis P Coffey on 05 Oct 1842.

Nova Lemons is the expert on this lineage. Her last e-mail address

From Nova's correspondence to me she say, "The 1860 Hamilton County
Illinois census shows Nancy A age 30, living with Salley Laswell
family. Daughters, Sarah J and Sophronia Coffey and Ladona Sneed were
also listed. The 1870 Hamilton County census shows Nancy with her last
name incorrectly given as Laswell and living with B F Laswell household
along with Sarah J Coffee and Ladonia Sneed."

"Nancy A Sneed, widow of Eldridge, and of Walpole, Hamilton County,
filed for pension in September 1887 which was approved in February
1888. Nancy Ann Laswell Coffey Sneed died on 30 Dec 1898 at age 77
years 10 months 2 days. Her burial was at Smith Cemetery, Twigg
Township, Hamilton County, IL."

"Ladonia Sneed was born circa 1854 in Hamilton County, IL and died
circa 1877-1880 in IL. She was not on the 1880 census. Her burial
location is not known. She married Riley Griswold on 3 Mar 1876 in
Hamilton County, IL. Riley was born 18 Dec 1854 near Walpole, Hamilton
County, IL, and died 29 Nov 1948 near Macedonia, Hamilton County, IL.
He is buried at Smith Cemetery, Hamilton County, IL. His parents were
Thomas Griswold and Lucinda Smith. After Ladonia's death, he married
2nd to her half-sister, Sophronia Coffey. According to his obituary, he
had two children by Ladonia: Charles S and Linda."

Like I previously stated, Nova is the expert on this family. She has
more info on the Lasweel-Coffey-Sneed lineage.
