Diane and others. I am interested in Oglesby because my distant cousin Fern
O'Neal (Knights Prairie area) married Clarence Oglesby and they are still
doing pretty well in their mature years outside McLeansboro. But of further
interest to me is the fact that my GGGF Henry O'Neal enlisted in the 6th Ill
Vol Cav and the guy above him on the roster is an Oglesby. (My files are
still in the car after giving a talk to the Exchange Club about CW ancestors
so I can't get his first name at the moment.) Then one of Henry's sons, John,
enlisted in the 110th Ill Vol Inf in 1862 and just ahead of him on the roster
is John (I think) Oglesby.

I have not been able to interest Clarence in genealogy, but with a little
added information I might. Cousin Fern remembers Uncle John O'Neal and Aunt
Marthy so it might be that Clarence will recall some Oglesby old timers if it
is the same line. If you don't mind I would appreciate knowing what you come
up with.
