On the 1860 Census for Gallatin County, IL you will find a 3 year old Tera
Compton living with Catherine Compton as the head of the household. Catherine
Compton was born in TN and she was a widow. Also in the household was Joel (11
born in TN), Catherine (8 born in TN) John (1 born in IL) and Tera (3 born in
IL). They lived in Township 9 Range 9 E.

On the 1870 Census for Gallatin County, IL you will find Catharine Compton
has remarried to Wilson RUSS. In the household you will find: Joel (19), R. E.
( Female 18) ? R.C. (Female 14 born in IL), T. L. (Female 12 born in IL) and
John (11 born in IL).

Wilson Russ and Mrs. Katharine Compton married on 28 August 1862 (Book A,
Page 208) in Gallatin County, IL.

Looking back to TN Census was not successful in finding the COMPTON Family in
1850, therefore could not find the Unknown Compton (father).
