I am seeking information on my g,g,g, grandmother, Esther Holcomb who
died 1877 in Hancock county Illinois.
It appears that she came to Hancock county between 1863 and 1866 from
Gallia county Ohio.
Esthers first husband, Dr. Ira Holcomb died of consumption, 1861 in
Ohio.
She married Dr. Samuel Knott 18 Apr 1866 in Hancock county Ill. Dr.
Knott died within a year or two after the marriage. I have not been able
to locate as of yet his place of burial.
I have been unable to find her in the 1870 census listing in Hancock
county under Holcomb or Knott families.
According to her obit., she was residing with A. Tarman residence. I
would like to know who the Tarman Family is and the relationship between
Esther and the Tarmans.
Does anyone know who the Tarmans are?
