Subject: [ILHANCOC] Roll Call - Truitt marriages Hancock Co, Illinois

My interest in Hancock County centers around 2 marriages which occurred there. I still have not been able to verify if my ancestors resided in Hancock County, or if they were only married there. The marriages were as follows:

--1847 "Elizabeth Ann Truitt" marries "Henry Mortimer Kellogg" in Nauvoo, Hancock County, Illinois.

--1849 "Mahala Truitt" marries "Jacob Emanuel" in Hancock County, Illinois. An old Truitt Family Bible indicates that the marriage of Mahala Truitt and Jacob Emanuel occurred on 1 July 1849, "at residence of bride's father." Thus, Lottie Hendricks assumes that as of 1849, Isaac Truitt may have lived in or near Hancock County, Illinois.

Would love to correspond with anyone having information about a Truitt family who may have lived in Hancock County, Illinois 1847 - 1849. They do not appear in the 1850 Census Index for Hancock county, but could possibly show up by doing a page by page search. Any ideas or suggestions on how to find my Truitts?
