Greetings,
If I may, I would like to write a brief note to the Hancock County
forum, and ask if anyone knows whether any of the county historical
groups are active in trying to preserve any old buildings or landmarks in
the county? The only one my wife and I could think of, was the Jail, in
Carthage (the Mormons I believe take care of the Old Jail, I'm referring
to the one on the south side of the square, in this context). I did a
little checking on the internet, and found an agency in Peoria, but the
email addresses for it, come back undeliverable.
