Seems every time I get on line, I get this "virus". Happy99 really is not a
Virus; that is why it will not show up when you activate your Virus
detector. It is a trojan (like in trojan horse). Be very careful when you
receive any file or attachment with .EXE that is not solicited. Do not open
this file, delete it immediately. That is all it takes not to get it in
your Windows System.
You may test to see if you have it by sending yourself an E-mail. If your
message returns to you with an attachment with Happy99--then you have it.
To remove it follow these instructions:
Through Explorer or My Computer check the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM folder for the
presence of the following:
(1) SKA.EXE
(2) SKA.DLL
(3) WSOCK32.SKA
If you find these three files do the following:
(1) Delete SKA.EXE, SKA.DLL and WSOCK32.DLL
(2) Rename WSOCK32.SKA as WSOCK32.DLL
(3) Reboot the system.
That is all it takes to remove this trojan. PLease pass this on to anyone
else that you know having this problem. It is running "wild" throughout the
Internet.
