Subject: Old photos, news papers and silver fish

Hello list,
Does anyone out there have a recommendation for getting rid of silver fish (the bug) in boxes of old newspapers and photographs. I heard boric acid will get rid of them but I worry about the acid and photo combination. I also thought about using moth balls but again I'm worried about the damage it might cause to the pictures.
