the largest genealogy conference in Southern Illinois.

The program for the Annual Fall Conference and Book Fair of the
Genealogy Society of Southern Illinois is now complete, and is posted on
line at http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilgssi/conf2004.html The Conference
will take place in the Ray Hancock Center at John A. Logan College,
Carterville, IL on October 2, 2004.
Feature speaker is Tony Burroughs, FUGS, an internationally known
genealogist who teaches genealogy at Chicago State University.
Burroughs' topics include Farmers and Tenant Farmers, Freedmen's Bureau
Records and Navigating the National Archives. Other speakers will
discuss the Illinois State Archives, Migration Routes to Illinois,
Publishing Family Histories, and Restoring Family Photos.

Pre-registration is $30 if received by September 25. A box lunch will
be available on site for pre-registrants at additional cost ($6.50).
