The diary of Alexander Blaikie has been scanned and
placed on the web by Mr Doug Rankin of Monmouth, IL.

Blaikie was a Presbyterian circuit rider. His diary covers
a three month period in 1835 and includes his travels
in Henderson Co. The address is;

Using your find or search function, search for warren or
Jamieson. This will bring up all references to Henderson
Co.

Blaikie mentions preaching in the barn of W Jamieson, Esq.
This is William R Jamison who migrated to the county in Nov
of 1829. He also has information on the organization of the
South Henderson church. Blaikie also devotes several
paragraphs to the Cholera outbreak of 1835 which took the
wife of William Jamison. His wife, Martha Findley was the
first to be buried in the South Henderson cemetery.

The web site has individual pages of the diary or the entire
file can be down loaded in Microsoft format.
