Bill--
I'd recommend the Burlington Public Library (across the river in Burlington,
Iowa). They've got a local history/genealogy room and a good collection of
local resources. Henderson Co. newspapers on microfilm are in the county
library in Biggsville. There's also a Warren County Genealogical Society in
Monmouth with a library, but I didn't manage to catch it when it was open on
my visit in the fall of 1999. They have a web site at
http://www.maplecity.com/~wcpl/gen/home.html . There are also links on the
Henderson Co. Genweb site to various local resources, I think
(http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilhender/ilhende.htm ).
One word of advice...definitely plan on staying in either Burlington or
Monmouth. Unless things have changed a lot since I was there, hotel/motel
pickings are pretty slim in Henderson Co.
Hope you enjoy your trip as much as I did.
