Jerry, have you looked at the Henderson/Webster County KY Meltons? I think
there were several Meltons who came to Henderson County very early on, abt
1815 or earlier. My direct line didn't arrive in Ky until the Civil War,
abt 1861. The Henderson County Genealogy site is excellent. Given the
proximity to Southern Illinois, it might be worth looking at and contacting
researchers in the area. Several decendents of Daniel Farrar Melton settled
there. I don't see your Thomas in my databank. I will keep looking through
other sources. I can't help but think there is some kind of close
connection that led my Nathan to Jeff Co abt 1850 as a young man. The
Meltons just didn't travel alone to a new place without having some kind of
contact in the area. Well, let's keep looking. If you would like to see
any of my Gedcoms, I'd be happy to send them to you. Bye for now..Robert
Summers in Tennessee
