Thanks very much for all the information. I've noticed that there's a John
Cook in Hamilton County in the 1820 census who subsequently disappears. I
wonder if this could be Theophilus' father?? Do you happen to have any
other inklings about Theophilus' siblings?

There are several very early Cooks in the Hamilton, Franklin and Jefferson
areas - including the John I mentioned, along with a Robert Cook, and
Abraham Cook. I believe the Abraham Cook family is thought to be from
Laurens County, SC, but I don't know anything about the others. I wonder
if they aren't all somehow related.

If anyone else has other information about these very early COOKs, I'd love
to hear it!
