Perhaps I should explain more. There is a project to work with some type of
DNA
(this gets beyond me), but this particular part is traced just from father to
son, it does not go through the female line. We have the line of Barney E.
Wells back to the 1600's. Barney E. left a lot of descendants, most were
through daughters. One son, James H. born in 1847 had 3 sons Barney, John,
and Samuel. We know nothing of these grandsons. They may have died young. I
would especially like to know more of them. Barney's other sons appear to
have died without male issue. Barney E. also had brothers, Edmund P.,
Berryman, John,
Matthew and William C. Berryman went to MO and most of his sons went west
and
nothing further was heard of them. One of Berryman's sons did not leave
children, Matthew died in Henry Co. VA and did leave John, Joseph, and Joel.
It appears that Edmund P. went to Linn Co., MO. I am working on that.
John, brother of Barney E., did not have children. I need more information
on William C., there is a problem there. There was another William Wells
from an entirely different line in Jefferson Co. at the same time. The other
William was from PA and I think was in the Panther Creek area.
The big problem is that the line has to go from Barney or his brothers
through fathers to sons and not through females. I appreciate the replies
that I have received.
