I have a question about early funeral homes.
Does anyone know why that some were Funeral Parlor/Furniture Store??

I have noticed that both the Fly Funeral Parlor was also a Furniture Store
as was Osborn Funeral Home and Furniture Store.

My Great Uncle who was an embalmer although he never owned a funeral parlor
that I know of, was most always listed as a furniture salesman in census
records, although his occupation on his death certificate is listed as
Embalmer.

What is the connection if any?
