My German people came to New York, Erie County ( grandfather
William Deichler b. Buffalo area) in the early half of 1800s. They
spent some time there until becoming disinchanted and moving on to
Amana, Iowa, where they with a group bought 14,000 acres of
land to farm.
Somehow some of the group again grew dissatisfied with the
groups beliefs ( probably religious differences) and moved on to
Jersey County Illinois, where I am sure they had heard of the
German communities developing. My father Charles Henry Deichler was
born in Fidelity,
Jersey County, Illinois. Some of the people in Iowa retained the
Deuchler Surname.

My German Surname is DEICHLER/ DEUCHLER
