Lorraine,

I did find a Richard Clayton Fuller married to a Mahala Caroline Garrison in
the 1991 "History Jersey County, Illinois," p. 680. Richard purchased land
in Quarry township in 1835.

Here's what I could find for Jerseyville:

1823 first land entry at Jerseyville Joseph M. Fairfield.

Land entries Jerseyville:

1828 Lindsay H. English

1832 John Anderson

1833 Dr. A.H. Burritts, N.L. Adams

First settlers:

1827 James Faulkner, Ballard (earlier)

1833 John Ellis, John Anderson, Dr. A. H. Burritt, N.L. Adams, Alfred
Carpenter, Murray Cheney. English family.

1834 there were at least: G. Patterson, George Richards, J.E. Cooper,
G.W. Lowder, J. Allen, R.B. Robbins, Isaac Darnielle, E.A. D'Arcy, Alfred
Carpenter, John Ellis, J.W. Lott, E.M. Daley, Murray Cheney, N.L. Adams,
A.H. Burritt, N. Miner, Franklin Potts.
