My ancestor John Carroll was born in Ireland and had a daughter who was
born there. The child's mother died in Ireland, and John Carroll and the
infant girl came to America in 1798. He died in IL, but I don't know where
or when. His daughter settled in Canton, OH, where she married a Whipple
in 1819. One of her sons, John R. Whipple, went to Jersey County, another,
Matthew Carroll Whipple, to Litchfield, perhaps to stay with their grandfather
or other Carroll relatives.
Is John Carroll buried in or near Jersey County?

Did John Carroll marry again and if so, who was his wife?

Are there any descendants of his and a second wife or of his Whipple grandsons
living in or near Jersey County?
