There were Rhoades in Macoupin County, Illinois..circa 1830-1840 in a
township #9 which was named Summerville, then Rhodes Point, and then the
current name, Medora.

You may want to look at Macoupin Co., Illinois for your Rhoades.

I am searching for information on my Rhoads (Rhoades) family. I believe I have finally traced my g. g. grandfather to a Jacob Rhoades that I have found last on an 1880 census from Monticello, Piatt, IL. He was 38 yrs old at the time and a farmer. He was from OH originally according to the census. He was married to a Catharine (aged 35) from and they had six children living with them at the time: Edmund Rhoades (age 13, from OH); Dent Rhoades (my g. grandfather, age 12, from OH); Wilson Rhoades (aged 9 from OH); Margaret Rhoades (aged 7 from OH); Grace Rhoades (aged 5, from OH); and Mary L. Rhoades (aged 2, born IL). Do you have any knowledge of this family or how they might relate to the Rhoades you are referring to? If so, please e-mail me at .
