This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list.

Message Board Post:
Ian,
Yes, it is his right not to do either. However, as admin of this message board, if someone has indicated information is available and if people are writing and not getting answers (which was what it looked like when the gentleman wrote twice in 2 weeks, but which turned out *not* to be the case), then I have to make a decision - does the original message have enough information to warrant leaving it on the board?
Which, by the way, if any message has *any* genealogical interest to anyone, even if the poster's orginal e-mail is no longer valid, or if the original website listed has become obsolete, it will remain on the board. If, however, the message contains nothing but an obsolete website address and, after writing the poster to try and determine the correct address, I am unable to find a working URL, then I delete it.
Perhaps Mr. Noble has the right idea - don't include the URL in the message in the event he changes the website one day! As long as he does check the board frequently for requests, that will work.
As I mentioned in the previous post, had I written to the gentleman who asked twice instead of Mr. Noble, we surely could have avoided all this. Sigh.
I have written again to Mr. Noble and included the message I posted last night, in the event he hasn't checked the board.
Thanks for your reply.
Marilyn
