What follows is what I have on my connection to JoDaviess: I grew up on a
farm in Nebraska listening to my grandfather tell of his train trip "back
East." When old enough I asked him where out East he went. Out near Peoria
he said. Granted Elizabeth is not really close to Peoria, but then Peoria
does not fit with what we imagine "Out East" to be either.

Illinois, USA.[5] They seem to have moved to Elizabeth about 1850 or
so.
