Am loving the newspaper articles. Since they started have been reading the
JD list with new enthusiasm.
In one of the List of Letters at the PO I saw the name Jack Fairfax. Fairfax
is my main interest in Galena but I was stumped on Jack. Finally decided it
must be Andrew Jackson Fairfax who perhaps went by "Jack". However, he would
only have been 14 in 1864. It seemed odd to me that a 14 yr old would have
mail back then (maybe his draft board <G>). Does anyone have thoughts on the
likelihood of mail for a 14 yr old?
Thanks,
Christina
