Searching for any scrap of information on Elmira BROWN and Joseph THOMAS. Also their ancstors. Elmira BROWN was born 22 June, 1832 or 1834 in Illinois. Exact location unknown. Joseph THOMAS was born about 1831 in Connecticut. Exact location unknown. They next show up, married, in Woodbine Twp., Jo Daviess Co, Illinois. They were probably married about 1855, because their first child, Mary Louisa THOMAS, was born in 1856. They had two more girls born there, Melvina THOMAS, born 1860, and Josephine Eveline THOMAS, born 1862. In 1865, the family left for California, Joseph dying on the trail. The 1880 cunsus shows Elmira's father was born in Tennessee and her mother was born in Kentucky. These may be step parents. Any help will be most appreciated.
