The following information was provided by DAN CREEL of Tulsa, Oklahoma
in August, 2000. It is posted here with his permission.

JESSE N. COX was a brother of my great-grandfather WILLIAM B. COX, who died
in 1865 at age twenty-five. WILLIAM B. COX married EASTER E. RUSHING.
After his death, she married a second time to WILLIAM H. JACKSON, and moved
with him to Ripley Co., Missouri. THOMAS MILTON COX, son of WILLIAM B. COX
and EASTER, married TELIDA F. O'NEAL in Ripley Co., Missouri in 1887. TELIDA
died in childbirth in 1895 (I believe) and THOMAS then married RHODA "LOAD"
SHAHAN (see 1900 Ripley Co. census!) and they moved to Oklahoma about
1908-1910.

There was one small inaccuracy in the biography of JESSE N. COX in the
“Biographical Review.” According to the 1850 census of Calloway Co.,
Kentucky, MARY JANE COX, born in 1831 (the oldest daughter of JEREMIAH COX)
and her husband THOMAS H. HAMPTON of Missouri, were living next door to her
father. So for accuracy sake, two daughters, seven sons AND one son-in-law
moved with him to Johnson Co. Illinois in 1855

JEREMIAH4 COX, JR. (JEREMIAH3, EDWARD2, JOHN1) was born in 1807 in
Tennessee, and died in 1878 in Ozark, Johnson Co., Illinois. He married
OBEDIENCE HOLLAND on December 24, 1830 in Trigg Co., Kentucky,. She was the
daughter of WILEY HOLLAND and BATHSHEBA SKINNER. She was born September 01,
1812 in Tennessee (per 1850 census), and died December 16, 1854 in Ozark,
Johnson Co., Illinois. JEREMIAH COX, JR. and OBEDIENCE HOLLAND COX are both
buried in Rushing Cemetery, Ozark, Johnson Co. Illinois.

The children of JEREMIAH COX and OBEDIENCE HOLLAND are as follows:

MARY JANE COX, born 1831, Calloway Co., Kentucky; EZEKIEL PERRY COX,
born December 12, 1834, Calloway Co., Kentucky; died July 30, 1900, Johnson
Co., Illinois;
WILLIAM BRYANT COX, born1836, Calloway Co., Kentucky; died about 1865,
Johnson
Co., Illinois; JESSE N. COX, born October 09, 1838, Calloway Co., Kentucky;
died May 20, 1902, Johnson Co., Illinois; JEREMIAH THOMAS COX, born 1840,
Calloway Co., Kentucky; (Would guess his name as JEREMIAH THOMAS - first
name after his father and middle name after a brother of OBEDIENCE.);
DANIEL S. COX, b. 1842, Calloway Co., Kentucky. (Possibly named DANIEL
SKINNER COX – an older brother of OBEDIENCE was named DANIEL and her mother
was a SKINNER.); BATHSHEBA E. COX, born 1844, Calloway Co., Kentucky.
("BASHA E." on 1850 census, Calloway Co., Kentucky.); RICHARD S. COX, born
1846, Calloway Co., Kentucky; married GEORGIA A. GOLEY, January 17, 1867,
Johnson Co., Illinois. (Transcribed as GEORGE A. on marriage record.);
JAMES FRANKLIN COX, born 1848, Calloway Co., Kentucky; d.ied 1914, Johnson
Co., Illinois; married REBECCA C. HOSLEY, January 11, 1869, Johnson Co.,
Illinois; born 1854; died 1926, Johnson Co., Illinois. JAMES FRANKLIN
COX:and REBECCA C. HOSLEY COX are both buried in Rushing Cemetery, Ozark,
Johnson Co., Illinois.
