Subject: [ILJOHNSO] Tentative Identification of the Parents of Jordan Goddard
Date: Fri, 22 Jun 2001 23:33:06 -0500
Hi cousins and rooters;
It has been sometime since I posted my brickwalls, but I think I may have
made some progress. Emphasize that word "think"; in other words, I am
exercising extreme caution. I believe my Jordan Goddard, who served in
Company I, 120th Illinois Infantry, and who married Rebecca C. Harner,
daughter of Philip and Sarah Harner, may have been the son of Andrew and
Mary Goddard, listed in the 1860 Census of Johnson County, Ill. By that
time, Jordan was living in Tunnel Hill with Rebecca and so wasn't found in
his parents' home. I'm so nervous about this, I can hardly write the words
down. But the evidence I have, and, I admit it is circumstantial, lies in
Jasper Goddard, the 11-year old brother listed in that 1860 census.
Are there any other Goddard/Harner researchers in this group with whom I
could carry on some extensive (and critical) conversation so that I don't
waste everyone's time?
