Sharon this is great!!!! thanks big heaps!!!
No I've never been to the cemetery in Pope Co. Plan to one of these days
tho.
I was wondering, some of this info that you have if you could send it to me.
I'd be willing to reimburse for copies & postage.
My line stems from Edmond's daughter Mary 'Polly" who married James Grissom,
their daughter who married Stephen Burris, then their son Thomas R Burris
who married Julia Lundy. My great grandmother was Effie Burris Porter,
married George B. Porter

Letters of administration filed after James's decease stated" The widow
(Elizbeth Rose Hobbs Whiteside) agrees to take the home,............etc.

and

According to Gene Nikkel (1911-1999) the wife of James A. was Elizabeth
Hobbs d/o Joseph Hobbs. She doesn't mention Barnett at all. Bill asks
if Barnett could be her mother's name. At this time he needed marriage
record of Elizabeth and Edmund Rose.
This is also by Gene Nikkell who is the daughter of one of Margaret
Whiteside's sons who married James Grissom. Margaret is my great
grandmother. She says on Nov. 14, 1816 Eliz married James A.
She ws born July 14, 1788, probably in Ann Arundel, MD, the dau. of
Joseph Hobbs St. Planter and Rev. War Patriot. b. 1715, MD. Gene says
she was probably born in Md, but Pope Co. mortality schedule says KY.

Have you ever been to the grave site in Pope Co?
