Subject: [ILKANE-L] Kirk Family in Hampshire
Date: Sun, 13 Jun 1999 22:10:53 -0700

I am seeking information on Anna KIRK (mother) and Henry KIRK (son) who
according to the 1860 census, were residents and land owners in Hampshire,
neighbors of Edward Doty. Anna was listed as age 80 and a widow. In
addition to Henry, Samuel tho not listed on the census & who had purchased
property not to far from Anna and Henry, may be another son along with
Josiah who in 1860, lived in Monroe County, Wisconsin later moving to New
York. Feb 1863, Henry married Jane Caroline McALLISTER at the residence of
his brother Josiah in New York - Jane being the sister of Elizabeth, wife
of Josiah - all from Ireland.

Is this family familiar to anyone? Anna is most likely buried in
Hampshire, the family was from the north of Ireland and most likely
attended the Methodist or Presbyterian church. Hopefully someone from
Hampshire is tuned in to this site and familiar with the local churches and
cemeteries. Any clues to aid in finding this family will be deeply
appreciated.

Thank you,
