Date: Wed, 16 Jun 1999 22:36:18 EDT
This is taken from a recent post to another list, but I believe many of the
items mentioned may very well be applicable to any US Presbytery Records.
Hope it helps some. -- Terra --

>They have the historical records for the predecessor denomination, the
>PCUS
>(aka Presbyterian Church in the United States), which was formed in 1861
>and reunited in 1983. The Associate Reformed Church records are at Erskine
>College in Due West, South Carolina. Records for the Presbyterian Church
>prior to 1861 are both at Montreat and also in Philadelphia at the
>Department of History archives. Some records were kept by local churches

>They have a catalog arranged geographically as well as by name and title.
> I know they are strong on records for NC, SC, KY, and TN. Didn;t look
>at VA records when I was there. Union Seminary or Presbyterian School of
>Christian Education in Richmond might have records as well - try the
>theological library at the seminary, rather than the main switchboard.
>Cumberland Presbyterian Church records are in Memphis, TN. They were
>primarily west of VA, but may have some congregations where the members
>were originally from VA and moved to TN.
