I have tracked this family from St. Lawrence Co., NY to Lake Co., IL in the
1850 census. Then they and their grown daughters are in Kane Co., IL in the
1860 census. There was an error in the spelling of their last name. In the
1860 census it is misspelled as Hankins. The census record reads:

1860 Census of Kane County, IL: 357/2640 Hankins, Isaac 65M Carpenter,
Property Owner NY. Betsy 63 F Wife NY

I have been looking for them after 1860 but to no avail. I recently found a
citation on the LDS website saying, "Isaac B. Hawkins was born November 28,
1787. He married Betsey Wright (1798-1862) and they had eleven children.
Isaac died April 19, 1868." This explains why I can't find them in an 1870
census anywhere. I have requested this document from LDS but they don't
promise it will be available as their citation doesn't give a film number. I
have requested it anyway.

I would like to know if anyone in Kane Co., would look to see if they can be
found in a Kane Co. cemetery? Is it possible to tell from the census what
area of Kane Co. they lived in?

Let me know if I can return the favor in Lake Co., IL.
