Bobbie,

I am getting most of my information from my mother (maiden name LEHMAN), who
grew up next to the Wolffs on McClure. She says they were German
Lutherans..

Herman and Emma had two daughters Marion and Margaret, who never married.
Also there was a Dorothy Wolff, cousin to Marion and Margaret who lived
nearby (Hyland and McClure).. Also a Fred Wolff who lived nearby also
(Hyland ave).

According to an article on Elgin's historic homes (I have scanned the
article)
The Wolffs (Herman and Emma) were married in 1898 and Wolffs owned the house
until 1988. The house was built in 1900.

According to SSN info, I believe Emma was born Nov 18, 1875 and lived until
Jun 1973 (died in Elgin)
Margaret Wolff was born 4 Sep 1905 and lived until Sept 1986 (died in Elgin)
Marion R. Wolff was born 18 Mar 1910 and lived until 7 Apr 1988 (died in
Elgin)

I have scanned pictures of some of the Wolff family on McClure in 1915 and
an older couple (looks like turn of the century).. The woman looks like the
Wolff family (according to Mom) so could be this Frederika Wolff
Winterfield??? At least the time frame is right. Remote possibility but
you never know. I also have a scanned picture of Herman Wolff in 1946 from
an album my Mom has..

If you have any pictures of Frederika and Carl, maybe we can compare?? I can
send you the pics I have in any case... along with the historic homes
article on the Wolff home.
