Sarah, his wife, died in 1891 and they sent me one for her. I even found her
parents listed on it - which is what I'm mainly trying to find as well for
Algernon. Actually, that's how I made the South Elgin Cemetery connection. Her
death cert says that is where she was buried. I figured he was with her as well
and I was right. But, it's possible that Algernon didn't have one. However the
language on the certificate itself indicates that if the doctor didn't fill
one out they might be fined 10 bucks for failing to do so. So it sounds like
they took it pretty seriously to do one - at least in 1891 in Elgin.
