How about a search on http:\\www.familytreemaker.com this might produce
CD's where family info might be located.. census lookups also.
There should be a place like county clerk where a naturalization application
should have been filed..I know my cousin Dianne has a copy of one of our
uncles..Our family came from Sweden in 1903.

Try cindys site http://www.cyndislist.com/

Ships and naturalization http://www.CyndisList.com/ships.htm

military http://www.CyndisList.com/milres.htm

This should give him a start....
