I am researching the family of David HOUSH and his wife Elizabeth
THORNBRUGH.
David HOUSH, born 25 July 1800 Bourbon Co., KY, married Elizabeth
THORNBRUGH on 27 Feb 1827 in Putnam Co., IN. They had 13-14 children.
They moved their family from Putnam Co., IN to Haw Creek Twp., in Knox
Co., IL [after Feb. 1836 and by June 1837] where they lived out the
remainder of their lives. David died 24 May 1879 in Haw Creek Twp.,
"near Maquon" and Elizabeth died on 20 Aug 1901 in Haw Creek Twp.
Elizabeth (Thornbrugh) Housh was born 10 May 1810 in OH to Joseph
THORNBRUGH and Rebecca GIBSON. She was one of nine children born to
this couple.
Recently I was told that her mother, Rebecca (Gibson) THORNBRUGH, died
in Knox Co., IL on 6 April 1857. Does anyone on the list have access to
any records which might reveal information on the death of Rebecca
(Gibson) Thornbrugh in Knox County? Perhaps a cemetery listing or is it
possible in 1857 that there may have been an obituary published? I am
also attemtping to locate descendants of both David and Elizabeth
(Thornbrugh) Housh and of Joseph and Rebecca (Gibson) Thornbrugh.
A number of Elizabeth's siblings also lived in Knox Co. at various times
and apparently for varying lengths of times.
Polly/Sarah THORNBRUGH, married Jacob BUTCHER, had a son John BUTCHER,
b. in Knox Co. ?
