For thirty years, I have been searching for Augustus Sherman who died in
Richland County OH in 1864. His wife Jane Vanderworker died in 1855 and
the oldest sons left home for IL and I am curious if they went to a relative's.
Four of the sons were married in Knox County IL between 1861 and 1869.
John Augustus Sherman md Julia Marvin 1861; Andrew Sherman md Elizabeth
Mason (we have yet to prove that this is the brother of John Augustus);
Abraham Sherman md Margaret Alice "Mae" Rhea and William md in 1868 Nancy
Clock who may have been widow of Louis Walker because she had a son named
Louis Walker.

My ancestor, Augustus's oldest son, John Augustus was in Knox County Illinois
until between 1870 and 1872 when a son was born in Nebraska.
