Responding to the query: Where is Knob Prairie Il, Appanooce Twp IL,

Knob Prairie (Jefferson Co.) IL. Post Office established 5/30/1860;
disbanded 7/1/1862.

Appanoose (Hancock). Named for Indian chief. Post Office established
7/18/1836; disbanded 8/29/1846; reestablished 7/8/1847; disbanded
8/21/1850; reestablished 9/26/1857; changed to Niota 10/24/1887

Appanooce tp. (township) (Hancock Co.) Named for the same chief.
