After checking census' and doing more research I feel that in the 1850 census of James Collins in Knox Co., Illinois
that Henry Collins living with this family is my great grandfather and so James and Mary Polly would be his Grandparents. He is of the right age and in the right county. I also think that Tabitha is his mother. From the 1840 census I think that McLee? is a son of James.
There is a Stephen, Thomas, Alexander and William who are possible sons as well.
James' wife Polly/Mary is possible a Sharp(sharpe,
Shaup)from Virginia that later became part of Kentucky. James may had a brother named Alexander D. Collins that married Tabitha Sharp who was Mary Polly's sister.
James, his son Stephen, and his brother, Alexander, were possibly living in Montgomery Co. Kentucky in the census of 1830.
I would really like to hear from this Collins Family with your thoughts, corrections and additions.
Karen
