Thanks for checking your Seward family for Jasper. The Illinois marriage index has their marriage listed under Gasper Durand and Carpelonia Parker. I found their marriage in the Knox County, Illinois Marriages Volume A (AKA Volume 2), p. 28, FHL Microfilm No. 1404969. Their license was dated 5 February 1853, and they were married 7 February 1853 by J. M. Combs, J. P. The groom's name is a bit difficult to read in this record, but it is Seward, no Durand, as is confirmed by subsequent census records and her father's probate records.
