Hi Jayne,
I appreciate the info but none of them are the Samuel Mecham I am looking
for. Here is what I have on him so far.
1. Samuel Chapman MECHAM was born on 23 Jan 1798 in Canaan, (Grafton), NH.

He appeared in the census on 26 Aug 1850 in Cool Spring Twp, (Mercer), PA.
914-923 MECHAM (WEEKEM), Samule, m, w, 52, PA, farmer, Elizabeth, f, w, 46,
PA, Sara, f, w, 20, PA, James, m, w, 18, PA, Cornelius, m, w, 16, PA,
Samuel, m, w, 13, PA, Gary, m, w, 11, PA, Hannah, f, w, 8, PA, Elizabeth, f,
w, 4, PA (Page 1).

He appeared in the census on 15 Jun 1880 in Rock Creek Twp, (Cowley), KS.
131-135 WALKER, George, m, w, 55, PA, farmer, Sara, f, w, 50, PA, George, m,
w, 21, IL, Erminnie M, f, w, 14, IO, Mary, f, w, 10, IO, MECHAM, Samuel,
father-in-law, m, w, 81, NY, retired farmer (Page 577a).

He died on 28 Feb 1882 in Topeka, (Shawnee), KS.



Samuel Chapman MECHAM and Elizabeth BALL were married about 1819 in (Erie),
PA. Elizabeth BALL (daughter of Thomas BALL and Elizabeth) was born on 24
Jan 1804 in (Erie), PA. She died on 5 Oct 1855. Samuel Chapman MECHAM and
Elizabeth BALL had the following children:



+2 i. William B MECHAM (born on 12 Mar
1820).

+3 ii. Mary MECHAM (born on 5 Jun 1821).

4 iii. Moses MECHAM was born on 14 Jul 1824
in PA. He died in Pomona, (Los Angeles), CA. He was buried in Hendley,
(Furnas), NE.

5 iv. Edward MECHAM was born on 12 Jan
1826 in (Mercer), PA.

+6 v. Harriett MECHAM (born on 27 Mar 1828).

+7 vi. Sally Sara MECHAM (born on 8 Jan
1830).

+8 vii. James MECHAM (born on 26 Feb 1832).

+9 viii. Cornelius Jones MECHAM (born on 18 Oct
1833).

+10 ix. Samuel MECHAM (born on 7 Sep 1836).

+11 x. Gary Blackheart MECHAM (born on 12 Jan
1839).

+12 xi. Phylinda Mylinda MECHAM (born on 22 Aug
1840).

+13 xii. Hanna Ball MECHAM (born on 19 Apr 1842).

14 xiii. Perry Greer MECHAM was born on 12 May
1844 in (Mercer), PA. He died before 1850 in PA.

15 xiv. Elizabeth B MECHAM was born on 26 Nov
1845 in PA. She died on 4 Oct 1855.

16 xv. Joab MECHAM was born on 8 May 1848 in
PA. He died in 1848.





Samuel Chapman MECHAM and Mary Elizabeth COLLINS were married on 20 Nov 1856
in (Knox), IL. Mary Elizabeth COLLINS was born about 1838 in IL.

KS/NH/IL, Iva, step-dau, f, w, 9, KS/NH/IL (Page 128-12). Samuel Chapman
MECHAM and Mary Elizabeth COLLINS had the following children:



17 i. Eli MECHAM was born on 21 Nov 1859.

18 ii. Era MECHAM was born on 27 Oct 1863.
He appeared in the census on 21 Jun 1900 in Mission Creek Twp, (Waubaunsee),
KS. 196-200 BROOKS, Leonia, f, w, Apr 1842, 54, France, 3 kids 2 alive,

+19 iii. Ira MECHAM (born on 21 May 1865).

20 iv. Augusta MECHAM was born on 3 Aug 1869
in KS.

21 v. Augustus MECHAM was born on 3 Aug
1869 in KS.

22 vi. Iva "Reed" MECHAM was born on 16 Nov
1870 in KS.



No I am trying to find him on the 1860 and 1870 census but not having any
luck.
