While I grew up in Galesburg, it was certainly long after 1917! That address
would be just north of Losey Street (no more than a block or so), and, to
the best of my recollection, was a residential neighborhood. While it's not
likely that it was a hospital, it's not impossible.

That's an area of large homes, and since someone found through the
assessor's office that there is a house at 732 North Academy, it's likely
that 734 was an upstairs apartment in that building. Houses in Galesburg
were not numbered sequentially -- my grandparents lived at 765, and their
next door neighbors were at 743 and 777. When they subdivided their large
house, the upstairs apartment there became 767. There are several other
examples of that around Galesburg.

That's not a fact -- it just my (somewhat) informed guess, and worth exactly
what you paid for it! 8-)
