Message Board Post:

Lou Nell, I have information about Carrie Golliher.

Marriage license, No. 330, dated Nov. 30, 1895, for John Bath of Cherokee County, Kansas, age 22, and Carrie Gollier of Cherokee County, Kansas, age 18. Elder W. S. Taylor, Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, married this couple on December 1, 1895.

This obituary for Carrie Bath was in the Scammon Miner on November 24, 1899:

"DIED--Sunday, Nov. 19, Mrs. Carrie Bath, wife of John Bath, who lives in the north part of the city. Mrs. Bath was 22 years old and leaves two small children. She was a sister of the little girl mentioned above. The remains were laid to rest at Sherwin Junction with those gone before."

The obituary for the little girl who was mentioned says:

"DIED--Saturday morning, Nov. 18th., at 3 a.m. Ora, the little daughter of Mrs. Golleher, age five and one half years. The remains were taken to Sherwin Junction Sunday p.m. for interment."

This name was also spelled as Gollier.

In the 1900 census John Bath, a 30 year old widower, born March, 1870, was living with his mother-in-law, Mrs. Golleher in Ross Township, Cherokee County, Kansas. Living with them was Carl Bath, 1 year old, born Jan. 1899, grandson to Mrs. Golleher. William Bath, Boarder, born July 1878, in Illinois, both parents born England, and a coal miner was living with them. This would have been the son of William and Elizabeth (Tucker) Bath.

Their other son, Thomas William Bath, must have been living with someone else.
