That was a very useful reply. It was not intended for me but I noted it
quickly. I have tried to locate an address which was noted on the census
circa 1900-1920 in modern day Galesburg. Physical appearnace of homes in the
block would indicate that none have been torn down. I found the house
numbers jumped in a strange manner and the # I was looking for was not to be
found.
I need to note that I think you posted back to the "mailing list" and the
question came from the "message board". It will not go back to the original
message poster. I agree that the area would have been residential. It was
just a skip and jump from where my mom grew up. Pretty much nicer homes that
are still standing.
