Dear Mr. Nihen,
I don't have any information about the Jasperson research files, but I do
have some information about some of the Orendorf family who came to
Stephenson County, Illinois from the area of Centre and Union counties in
Pennsylvania.
I have a family bible that was brought to Illinois from PA by my
ggrandfather, Harrison Clevenstine about 1857. One of Harrison's sons,
Cyrus Sterling Clevenstine, was married to Emma Ann Orendorf, by the
Methodist Minister of Monroe, Wisconsin on January 21, 1897.
Emma Ann Orendorf: born July 9, 1877; died March 29, 1901 in Rock Grove
Twp., Stephenson Co. Illinois. Burial in Union Cemetary, Rock Grove, IL.
Her parents were Hiram Orendorf (1837-1917) and Angeline McCauley
(1844-1930)
I have a loose page titled "Family Tree" which I believe was written by
Elmer Nicholson, a son-in-law of Emma Ann Orendorf Clevenstine. It is very
difficult to follow, but I will scan it and send it as a separate attachment
if you would like. There are many names listed, including possible siblings
of Hiram Orendorf, and you never know what "cousin" might have vital
information.
Have you posted to the Stephenson Co., IL message board? The majority of
the early settlers came from Centre and Union Counties in PA.
Sincerely,
Mary L. Mohaupt

elusive family, and I've been made aware that Mrs. Jasperson did research in
the Pennsylvania archives.
