I read you post and decided to give a look in the book "Ottawa Old and New"
. There is a listing for J. McKernan on page 13a. This is what it says:
Partial Directory of 1832. When the Black Hawk War broke out the following
were among the settlers in some of the townships of the county: South
Ottawa-J. McKernan.
Sorry no photos or anything else but one other listing for the name
McKernan- Sarah, if your interested in her let me know.
The next name in the index was McKernon, if your interested let me know.
