Wednesday
---The funeral of Patrick McCloskey took place from his residence on
Main street this morning at 10:30. A large concourse of friends
followed him to his last resting place.
---Marshal Smith discovered a dog with a counterfeit dog tax tag on
yesterday afternoon. It was made of brass with No. 120 stamped
thereon. He desires the owner to come and get the dog, pay the dog tax
and hereafter live an honest life as far as dog tax is concerned.
Thursday
---In the course of a recent Montana cattle case a cowboy testified that
" maverick" is somebody else's calf that you get your brand on first.
---John Campbell, of Riverside fell of a barn yesterday evening and
injured himself about the head and chest. He will be about in a few
days however.
---"Skippy" Johnson will not tarry long with us this time. Marshal
Smith took him in hand, but "Skippy" promised to jump the town and he
was left in peace.
---Capt. Smith at 48 Main street began to manufacture his own cigars
to-day. Ted Dyer is employed there.
