A cousin of mine has just received a copy of a marriage certificate for Frank
(Frances) MURPHY & Catherine O'BYRNE dated June 12, 1901. The couple was
married in Spring Valley, Bureau Cnty by John POWERS.
On the back of the certificate, it states the place of birth for the groom is
something like:
Penna, Penora or Pessora. It is definitely not Peru or Peoria. Does anyone
recognize this town?
I have checked the website for the town/county and cannot find anything close.
Any help would be very much appreciated,
