You might try getting an obituary from a Utica (or more likely,
LaSalle-Peru or Ottawa?) newspaper...I was able to get several from this
era from the LaSalle Co. Genealogy Guild. They have a wonderful obit.
index. The obituary may or may not include Sarah's maiden name, but it
would probably be interesting for you either way.

Have you tried looking for William & Sarah's marriage record? Maybe it was
from a co. where they haven't got their records online yet, but if you
contact a genealogy soc. or the courthouse, you would find whomever William
Hadley married...presumably before 1835 in Ohio?
