Greeting from Streator,
Could someone please explain why Joseph and Annie Lesak would name their two
daughters, Amelia and Amollia? As far as I know they were not twins. I
think the Lesak's did it just to confuse me.
Was there some sort of a history behind the two names? Were there two
famous Amelia/Amolia back in the 1850s?
Does anyone know of a web site that studies first names? That might be
interesting. Look at today, Chelsea's (var. sp.) are everywhere.
I never thought of Barbara as being a Slovak name, but, St. Barbara is the
patron saint of miners. Many Slovak's were miners, so they named a daughter
after the saint. By the way, St. Barbara is the patron saint of other trades
My father's name was Everill, not Everett. Wonder where that came from?
Have a Happy Year,
Joanie.
